Almost untouched by the years of maturation, the wine presents itself deep cherry red in the glass. The bouquet of Baron de Ley's Reserva is highly concentrated and takes some time to open. After an hour of aeration, it reveals a complex aromatic diversity of graphite and smoky notes against a background of increasingly complex red fruit aromas.
Very serious and delicate on the palate, a long and mineral finish unfolds with a persistent full aromatic fruity note. A great vintage!
It matures for 20 months in new American oak barriques and then for at least another 24 months in the bottle until it is fully ripe for drinking. There may be natural turbidity particles in the bottle as this wine has not been subjected to filtration and stabilisation.
Serve it with game, roasts and pasta dishes and should be opened about two hours before consumption.
