The Bricco Colma Monferrato Piemonte DOC by Prunotto shines in very deep ruby red with violet reflections in the glass, on the nose it impresses with dense aromas of sour cherry, spices and graphite notes in the background. Complex, lush, engaging and elegant, this exceptional red wine presents itself on the palate, powerful with round, juicy tannins and the varietal acidity that gives it a wonderful freshness. The finale is long, intense and sustainable.
Vinification of the Bricco Colma Monferrato Piemonte DOC by Prunotto
The vineyard of the same name in the municipality of Calliano gives its name to this pure cru. The Bricco Colma is vinified from 100% Albarossa, a grape variety that originated in the 1930s from a crossing of Nebbiolo and Barbera. The soils are mainly characterized by clay marl and sand veins.
The very healthy and balanced grapes are destemmed and pressed in the wine cellar, followed by maceration on the skins and alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature for 10 days. Slow malolactic fermentation is complete at the end of March of the following year. After ageing in French barriques for one year, the wine is bottled and matured for another 15 months in the bottle store before being sold.
Food pairings for the Bricco Colma Monferrato Piemonte DOC by Prunotto
Enjoy this powerful red wine as a perfect accompaniment to roasts, roasts, broilers such as the traditional "Bollito", as well as medium-ripe cheeses.
The Bricco Colma is already easy to drink, but also has development potential. It should be opened about 2 hours before serving
