Miguel Torres Chile's Cordillera Carmenère is a grape varietal, aromatic red wine from the Valle de Curico in the Valle Central wine region.
In a very deep ruby red with strong red shades, this wine is presented in the glass. An expressive bouquet with varietal aromas unfolds in the nose - ripe blackberries and juicy currants merge with notes of eucalyptus and leather, accompanied by fine notes of cloves, bay leaves and black pepper. The body is wonderfully full-bodied on the palate with round tannins that are perfectly integrated. The aromas of the nose also pamper the palate and are accompanied by subtle spices and roasting notes of the barrel maturity. With a pleasant, persistent length, this Chilean red wine closes.
Vinification of the Torres Cordillera Carmenère After harvesting
the grapes, they are almost strictly selected, destemmed, ground and mashed in the wine cellar. The mash is then fermented for 7 days at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees Celsius in a stainless steel tank. The maceration time for this red wine is one month. This wine is then gently removed and aged in French oak barrels for a total of 11 months. Of these, 30% are new wood and 70% are secondary barrels.
Food recommendation for the Carmenère Miguel Tores Cordillera
Enjoy this dry red wine from Chile with strong meat dishes from the oven - such as lamb roasts with rosemary potatoes - with freshly grilled or matured hard cheeses.
