The Dalaruan Classic Selection Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from The Lost Distillery Company shimmers gold colours in the glass. Nose and palate present appealing smoky-peaty notes, on the nose accompanied by fine spicy aromas of dried fruits, salts and spices, on the palate soft, salty and spicy with a gentle, smoky finish.
Production of The Lost Distillery's Dalaruan Classic Selection Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The Dalaruan Classic Selection whisky is made from a blend of matured aromatic and peaty single malts, which then mature for a while in sherry barrels. The
Dalaruan Distillery was founded in 1825 by Charles Colvill, distiller and maker, in Campbelttown on the Scottish west coast in the ancient county of Argyll and Bute, at the narrowest point between Scotland and Ireland. It existed until 1925, when it had to be closed due to the collapse of the whisky trade in Campbelttown.
The Lost Distillery Company, with the help of a team of whisky historians, revisits the production method and taste profiles of the former distilleries. By marrying single malts of different distilleries in the specific Scottish regions and using the given resources, they manage to reinterpret whiskies that have long since disappeared.
