THE FAY Cabernet Sauvignon from Stag's Leap Wine Cellars has its home in the Napa Valley wine region of California. This excellent red wine is vinified exclusively from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape.
The colour of this red wine is deep ruby to plum red with purple highlights. The expressive bouquet is characterized by strong aromas of ripe raspberries, sweetly ripened boysenberries and juicy black cherries, which combine with notes of cinnamon and freshly roasted coffee to create a harmonious, balanced fragrance.
On the palate, this American red wine convinces with a rich dark fruit fullness and perfectly integrated, silky tannin. The body is wonderfully powerful and juicy and is supported by a perfect, warm structure. The finale comes with a wonderful, elegant length and nuances of cooked berries and baking spices.
Vinification of Stag's Leap FAY CABERNET
The grapes for this fantastic red wine grow on one of the largest vineyards - FAY Vineyard - in the Napa Valley. The berries are carefully picked by hand in September and already selected in the vineyard.
Once the harvested material has arrived in the Stag's Leap wine cellar, the mash is traditionally fermented in a stainless steel tank. The malolactic fermentation is completely run through. At maturity, this wine is placed in French oak barrels (89% new wood) and rounded off for 22 months.
