The Gerston Classic Selection Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from The Lost Distillery Company shines golden yellow in the glass. On the nose and on the palate there are very appealing, soft aromas of ripe fruits, toffee, spices and salty peaty smoky notes. The long finish is spicy and peaty and fruity.
Production of The Lost Distillery's Gerston Classic Selection Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The Gerston Classic Selection arises from the marriage of various selected matured single malts.
The Gerston Distillery was founded in 1796 in Halkirk, Scotland, by farmer and distiller Francis Swanson. However, as early as 1882, the distillation had to be closed due to the loss of the water supply that was important for whisky production.
The Lost Distillery Company, with the help of a team of whisky historians, revisits the production method and taste profiles of the former distilleries. By marrying single malts of different distilleries in the specific Scottish regions and using the given resources, they manage to reinterpret whiskies that have long since disappeared.
