The Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Syrah from Craggy Range is a single-varietal red wine from New Zealand with a strong purple color in the glass.
The bouquet is carried a spicy, berry aromatics - Boysenberry, freshly ground pepper and anise are in the forefront. Underpinning the aromas of the nose are fresh herbs. The palate also delights in juicy red berries. The body is perfectly balanced and harmonizes wonderfully with the subtle acidity. The tannins are accompanied by a mineral note. In the final, this wine shows wonderfully long and dry.
Vinification of the Gimblett Gravels Vineyard Syrah Craggy Range
The Syrah grapes for this red wine come from the Hawke's Bay growing region.
After careful harvesting and selection of the grapes, they are gently pressed in the winery. The mash is fermented in stainless steel tanks. Spicy hints are provided by 16 months of wood aging in French barriques.
