The Grans Muralles by Miguel Torres is an excellent and expressive red wine cuvée vinified from the Monastrell, Samsó, Carinena, Garró and Garnacha grape varieties.
This Spanish red wine is presented in a dense, dark garnet red. The bouquet exudes expressive notes of ripe noble plums and juicy blackberries. The aromas of the nose are rounded off by toasted bread with light, finely spicy notes of liquorice and black pepper.
The taste, which is characterized by a rich aroma, shows very clearly the impressive potential of an outstanding location and the noble origin of this wine. This red wine is silky soft, full-bodied and pampers the palate with delicious chocolate notes. The soft tannin is perfectly integrated into the excellent structure. The Grans Muralles is an excellent lace red wine with a fantastic length.
Vinification of Miguel Torres Grans Muralles
The grapes are picked by hand from the old vines in Grans Muralles. The yield amounts to 3,000 kg/ha per year. After strict selection of the grapes, the grape varieties are vinified separately from each other. For 18 months, this red wine is aged in French Allier and Nevers oak barrels.
Due to the separate vinification, Torres can ensure the best development for each individual variety and thus create an unforgettable cuvée at the end.
Food recommendation for the Grans Muralles by Miguel Torres
This dry red wine from Spain is an ideal accompaniment to stews in tomato sauce with mild peppers and many herbs (thyme, marjoram, rosemary, basil, bay leaf) or to the spicy meat dishes of a typical Mediterranean cuisine with roasted and grilled roasts.
