The Aquavit line has a combination of caraway, anise, orange peel and a hint of vanilla.
On the palate it starts complex with harmonious caraway notes, which are accompanied by delicate nuances of vanilla and caramel and the aromas of dried fruits. These notes owe this aquavit to the maturation in port wine barrels.
Production of the Aquavit Double Port Cask line
The Aquavit line is distilled according to a traditional Norwegian recipe and matures for 16 months in oak barrels that were previously used as sherry barrels. This gives this aquavite its particularly round and gentle character.
To date, each line of Aquavit Barrel 4 travels from the 16 months of maturity on the lake to Australia and back, crossing the equator twice. The different temperature zones, the changing humidity, the wild sea breeze and the constant movement during the voyage give it its unique and unmistakable character. The Aquavit Double Port Cask line then matures on land in port barrels for at least 6 months, giving it additional flavours.

Serve this aquavit at room temperature or slightly chilled. Enjoy it neat, in combination with a beer as a "Viking place" or as a long drink.
