The Pinot Blanc mash fermented by Günther Steinmetz comes into the glass with brilliant straw yellow and immediately reveals an incredible, almost Burgundian elegance, which is also reflected in the low alcohol content. This white wine fermented for 10 days on the mash matured for 4 months after fermentation in large wood and therefore presents in the nose not only aromas of ripe apple and juicy Abbé Fetel pear but also nuances of almonds, nuts and fine, slate-shaped smoke.

On the palate, the Günther Steinmetz Pinot Blanc mash fermented is extremely grippy, juicy and full. But he never reminds of an exaggerated vanilla, barrique-defined Chardonnay, but always stays elegant. Delicate tannins structure the palate excellently and guide in a beautiful, medium-length finish.

Vinification of Günther Steinmetz Pinot Blanc mash fermented

The grapes for this white wine come from the blue slate shaped Moselle layers and were quickly brought into the cellar after the hand harvest. After mashing in the destemmed berries,  winemaker Stefan Steinmetz fermented  his Pinot Blanc grapes for a whole 10 days on the mash, i.e. on the skins. The wine then matured for a whole 11 months on the whole yeast in a 1000-litre wooden barrel.
