Poet Colleció Privada 2015 - Macià Batle

The Colleció  Privada from Macià Batle is a strong red wine cuvée from the Manto Negro, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah grape varieties. 

In the glass, this wine shines in a bright ruby red with cherry-red highlights. The intense bouquet is determined by warm aromas of ripe plums and juicy cherries. This is accompanied by spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa and a beautifully integrated wooden barrel note. With a juicy, powerful body and a very good structure, this Spanish red wine convinces the palate. The many spice aromas harmonize perfectly with the deep tannins. The finale comes with subtle fruit and wonderful length. 

Vinification Des Macià Batle Colleció Privada 

After harvesting the grapes, the harvested material is immediately taken to  the Macià Batle winery where it is destemmed and mashed. The mash is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of maximum 30 degrees Celsius. After alcoholic fermentation, this red wine matures for a total of 14 months in new wooden barrels of French and Russian oak. After that, this wine rests on the bottle for 36 months before they leave  the Macià Batle winery.

This dry red wine from the Spanish island of Mallorca is an excellent accompaniment to spicy roasts with savoury side dishes or to all kinds of spicy cheeses.
