The barrel matured RAUT Lagrein Alto Adige from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine growing region shows itself in the glass in bright purple red. This varietal Italian wine flatters in the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of plums, morello cherries, lavender and lilac. In addition there are hints of sun-warm rock, vanilla and forest soil.
This dry red wine by Peter Zemmer is ideal for wine drinkers who like it absolutely dry. The RAUT Lagrein South Tyrol already comes quite close to this, as it was vinified with just 3 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and complex, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, RAUT Lagrein South Tyrol flatters with a soft palate feeling, without losing any of its freshness. The finale of this red wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, or more precisely from Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC, finally inspires with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the limestone dominated soils.
Vinification of RAUT Lagrein South Tyrol by Peter Zemmer
The balanced RAUT Lagrein South Tyrol from Italy is a pure wine, vinified from the Lagrein grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here the vines dig their roots deep into limestone soils. After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks, small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the RAUT Lagrein South Tyrol is aged for a few months in oak barriques.
