The Merlot from Rawson's Retreat is a vine variety pure, lively red wine from the Australian wine-growing region South Australia.

In the glass this wine shines in a bright purple red with vivid garnet reflections. The powerful bouquet convinces the nose with aromas of juicy cherries and ripe plums with floral nuances of violet and sweet-spicy hints of freshly baked fruit cake. The aromas of the nose are also perfectly reflected on the palate. The fruitiness of this red wine is supported by soft tannins. In the finale there is a perfectly integrated oak wood note. 

Vinification of Merlot Rawson's Retreat

After the harvest of the Merlot grapes, the vintage is fermented in the cellar of Rawson's Retreat classically in stainless steel tanks. In order for this wine to retain its fruity freshness, part of it is matured in stainless steel tanks - for the oak wood notes this wine matures for a short time in wooden barrels.
