The Regaleali Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC from Tasca d'Almerita shines an intense ruby red in the glass. A fruity bouquet unfolds on the nose with aromas of cherry, sour cherry and mulberry, to which spicy notes of vanilla, cinnamon, sage and tobacco are added. The taste of this red wine from Sicily is balanced between a certain austerity and softness typical of the variety, with a full-bodied and concentrated palate and a pleasantly fruity finish of medium length.
Vinification of the Regaleali Nero d'Avola Sicilia from Tasca d'Almerita
This typical Sicilian red wine is made exclusively from the indigenous Nero d'Avola grape variety at the Regaleali winery. After manual harvesting, fermentation and complete malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, 50% of the wine matures in stainless steel tanks and 50% in 30 and 60 hl Slavonian oak barrels over a period of 6 months.
It is the "firstborn" of the winery and has been a classic for 60 vintages now, having played a decisive role in the history of Nero d'Avola. This characteristic wine is one of the best-known reds in Sicily. It comes from the heart of the island, from the rolling hills cultivated with vines and wheat for thousands of years, and reflects the style and class of one of the most famous vineyards in Europe.
