Volker Eisele's Terzetto is a fruit-driven red wine cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon (33%), Cabernet Franc (33%) and Merlot (33%).
This red wine represents the vinification of three classic grape varieties from Bordeaux - none of which should dominate the other grape variety.
In the glass, this wine appears a deep dark ruby red. The bouquet reveals complex notes of ripe strawberries and juicy black cherries. On the palate, the flavors of the nose are complemented by sweet vanilla and woody hints. The tannins are wonderfully soft and harmonize perfectly with the fruit aromas. This red wine convinces with its balanced, complex character that leads into a long finish.
Vinifcation of the Volker Eisele Terzetto
The grapes of the individual grape varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot) come from different plots of the Chiles Valley site.
After careful harvesting, the grapes are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The vanilla and woody nuances are provided by 24 months of aging in French oak barrels (Ailler and Troncais). This wine is only lightly filtered.
