Columbia Crest's Two Vines Merlot from the Washington State Wine Region is a wonderful, velvety red wine.
A warm cherry red shimmers in the glass with purple highlights in the glass. The seductive bouquet reveals intense aromas of juicy berry fruit - raspberries and blackberries in particular stand out - accompanied by fine notes of roasted nuances and oak wood. On the palate, this wine initially presents itself with a fruity and gentle berry aroma. In the further course, spicy notes, coffee and dark chocolate are added. The body is wonderfully velvety and very balanced. The finale comes with a nice length.
Vinification of Columbia Crest Two Vines Merlot
After harvesting the Merlot grapes in the Columbia Valley, the harvested material is completely destemmed and carefully ground in the Columbia Crest wine cellar. The resulting mash is then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 7 to 10 days and circulated twice a day. As a result, further color pigments and aromas are extracted from the berry skins. Once fermentation is complete, this wine is aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
