The Vara y Pulgar Tintilla from Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico in the sherry region of Cadiz is a pure, wonderful red wine from the Tintilla de Rota grape variety.
In the glass, this wine shines in a brick red with opaque highlights. The fragrant bouquet is characterized by complex aromas: from red and blue fruits - such as raspberry, blueberry and plum - to fresh floral scents to candied nuances. On the palate, too, there was a berry aroma of raspberries and blackberries with a salty and spicy touch. The body is wonderfully juicy, fresh and concentrated. The fine tannins harmonize perfectly with the moderate acidity and lead to a long-lasting reverberation.
Vinification of the Vinos del Atlántico Vara y Pulgar
The grapes come from the single vineyard Viña San Cristobal and grow on Albariza on 25-year-old vines. Albariza is a white earth rich in limestone, sand and clay.
After careful harvesting by hand, the grapes are pressed. The resulting mash is fermented under temperature control in concrete tanks. Afterwards, this Spanish red wine rests for 8 months in French oak barriques (volume 225 l).
Food recommendation for the Vara y Pulgar Tintilla Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico
