Zuazo Gastón - A short journey through time

Since 1850, the Zuazo family has been engaged in viticulture with heart and soul. in 1908 they built a wine cellar with two stone wine presses. In 1947 Mariano Zuazo and Victoriano Gastón founded a wine cooperative with other local winegrowers - specializing in the production of bulk wine. With the next generation of the family in 1987, Luis Zuazo and 9 regional winemakers join the newly created Maese Joan winery. A winery where they could process, age and bottle wine from their own vineyards. in 1989, Prudencio Zuazo Gastón has a wish - a winery of his own, vinifying the fruit of their own vineyards into their own wines. The following decade was used to develop, transform and expand the vineyards up to 52 hectares. in 2001, the winery Bodegas y Viñedos Zuazo Gastón was founded.

And today?

Bodegas y Viñedos Zuazo Gastón owns over 100 hectares of vineyards. The winery, with its 4000 square meters, is equipped with ultra-modern facilities. It has a processing capacity of 1,400,000 liters and 2,000 American and French barrels. Today the wines are exported to more than 20 countries.

At Zuazo Gastón, it is agreed that there are few secrets in the wine business. One of them is the careful selection and cultivation of the soil. When the grapes have reached their optimal maturity, the skills and abilities of an entire team come into play. And in order to always guarantee the high quality of the wines, the facilities are constantly renewed and modernized.
