Botran

The Botran family founded the Botran brand in the middle of the 20th century. The five brothers came from Burgos, Spain, with the idea of taking advantage of Guatemala's ideal climate for rum production. The rum is produced in the historic Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. The company's own sugar cane plantations are located in Retalhuleu, in the south of Guatemala. The rum from Botran is made from Virgin Cane Honey, a special sugar cane syrup that has a high quality. The fresh sugar cane juice is slowly heated before distillation so that the water evaporates and the valuable Virgin Cane Honey is created. The aging takes place in the Solera system, which is composed of whiskey, sherry and port wine barrels, a unique system in the world of rums.
