Caruso & Minini - Two families working together

The Caruso family has been growing wine for 4 generations now. They had the craft expertise, but the family lacked the business experience to successfully distribute their wines. Stefano, Francesco and Roberto Caruso one day met Mario and Francesco Minini, who owned a wine trading house in northern Italy. Soon they decide to continue together from here. For this purpose, a winery is founded in the west of Sicily in Marsala with the name Caruso & Minini. In 2004 they begin to bottle and sell the first bottles.

Today, the family joint venture exports its wines to over 30 countries around the world. In the meantime, Stefano's daughters Rosanna and Giovanna have joined the business and also taken over the management, bringing a breath of fresh air to the company.

The vineyards of Caruso & Minini

The family's vineyards extend in the hinterland of Trapani, a town north of Marsala on the west coast of Sicily. The vineyards, named Giummarella and Cuttaia, cover an area of more than 120 hectares over the hills of the area at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. 

A wide range of grape varieties are grown. Among them there are both native varieties and well-known names from the international spectrum:

The cellar and the wine at Caruso & Minini

When the grapes are ripened and harvested, they are quickly transferred to the winery, which is housed in a baglio, a Sicilian country house, dating back to 1904. The entire production is tradition-oriented due to the history of the Caruso family, but of course does not ignore the latest achievements in viticulture and cellar technology.

The portfolio of wines today is very broad, be it red, white or rosé wines, still or sparkling, conventional or organic, or something completely different like olive oil. Even the regionally classic Marsala wine is produced by the house of Caruso & Minini. The wines of the house are frequent guests at international fairs and awards ceremonies, where they are often awarded prizes. So you definitely can't go wrong with a Caruso & Minini wine.
