Winery Ceretto from the best location

In the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy, expansive hills dominate the landscape. On the edge of the Po Valley lies the town of Alba, which is known as the location of the Ceretto winery.  Ceretto is an Italian winery whose wines, architecture as well as surrounding landscape are equally inspiring. Wine connoisseur circles say that the region, which was already cultivated in the early Middle Ages, is one of the most famous wine-growing areas in the country. 

Inherited, enlarged - Ceretto

The Ceretto winery, which today covers 120 hectares, was founded in the thirties by Riccardo Ceretto. In the sixties, his two sons Bruno and Marcello took over the estate and enlarged it in the following years. in 1973 they had a new wine cellar built and equipped the winery's production rooms with state-of-the-art equipment.

And what can they do?

The sun-drenched slopes of the winery are primarily planted with the two red wine varieties

• Nebbiolo and
• Barbera

which are used to make what are probably Italy's best red wines. "Barolo" and "Barbaresco" are the names of the quality wines that enrich the distinctive range of the company. Both Barolo and its "little brother" Barbaresco delight with their bright color and fresh acidity. Well-integrated tannins, with a texture reminiscent of plums, are the characteristics with which these excellent red wines are blessed. The red wines of the house are comparable to great Burgundies, characterized by a wonderful aroma, a pronounced tannic structure and a distinctive wood note. In the mouth, a veritable firework of multifaceted aromas unfolds. Predominantly wild berries, blueberries and plums determine the taste, while cinnamon, tobacco, vanilla, violets, pepper, licorice and licorice appear as accompanying aromas.
