Since 2014 this small Winery Chateau la Fortune the Helfrich family. The consultant here is none other than the well-known and famous wine consultant Michel Rolland. We are near Bordeaux, between the world's most famous Margaux wineries Château Lascombes and Château Labegorce lies the small Château la Fortune on just 2.5 hectares of land. However, the goal of the dedicated team under the leadership of oenologist Vincent Cachau is not to produce concentrated and modern fruit bombs á la overseas, but to work out the terroir of the estate. This extends on a hill-shaped pebble plain, and besides rich fruit notes, it also allows the tannins and minerality of the wine to shine. A true treasure in Bordeaux, of which we will certainly hear a lot in the coming years.

Chateau la Fortune Location

The Margaux growing region in the Bordeaux wine country is famous for its red wine. Among the great red wines of the Médoc, Margaux stands out for its particular finesse. The undisputed top is the Château Margaux, named after the village. Besides Margaux, the communes of Cantenac, Soussans and Labarde, the part of Arsac also belong to the Margaux area. In total, about 1,100 hectares of cultivated area are planted. After fermentation, the wines must have an alcohol content of 10.5 °. The yield may not exceed 40 hl/ha.

The appellation applies exclusively to red wine. The only significant white wine from Margaux is Blanc de Château Margaux, which is sold in AOC Bordeaux. The permitted grape varieties in Margaux are:
