Cielo e Terra

Heaven and earth

in 1908, the Cielo family founded the Cielo winery in the Valle del Chiampo - which translates as Heaven. Giovanni Cielo was very successful with his work, so that the wines were soon in demand in neighboring valleys.

The years pass

Demand continued to grow in the second generation and third generation, so that in 1962 the Cielo winery continued to expand. However, it soon became apparent that the small vineyard activity was no longer sufficient to meet demand. So Cielo bought most of the grapes for their Italian wines.

The turn of the millennium

In the fourth generation, Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo took over the winery and the opportunity arose to join forces with a group of over 2000 winemakers in the Colli Berici . Since then, only grapes from their own vineyards have been processed in a modern, well-organized company. The new company is called Cielo e Terra, because the Cielo family has become attached to the land (Terra).

The Berici Hills

Colli Berici is a hill area of ancient volcanic origin that rises between Verona and Padua. The mild climate and the perfect sunshine favor the almost Mediterranean vegetation -this is also where the grapes of Cielo e Terra feel at home. There grow autochthonous grape varieties, such as:

• Cenerente
• Turbiana
