Cipresso is a brand of Enoselezione Vini d'Italia, a project by an oenologist from Rome that was launched in 1989. Instead of producing wines on a specific estate, partners are sought throughout Italy with whom great wines can be produced.
Winery Cipresso – A Special Selection from Italy
This has led to several wine ranges being brought to market to this day, for example the Ceppaia wines from Tuscany, or also Cipresso or Palazzo Malgara. In the meantime, Enoselezione Vini d'Italia has become part of the Castelfeder winery in South Tyrol, which is run by the Giovanett family.
The Terroir of Cipresso Wines
The Cipresso wines come exclusively from Abruzzo, more precisely from the DOCG region around Montepulciano, with a red, a white, and a rosé wine available. Abruzzo lies east of Rome, and the Apennines dominate the landscape. The climate is very diverse:
- cool and humid at higher altitudes
- dry and hot directly on the Adriatic

Winegrowing is carried out mainly in the golden middle, where conical hills rise and temperatures are balanced. The clay soils are rich in limestone, which gives the local wines a typical character.
