Emiliana - Biodynamics in Chile
Emiliana is a winery in Chile founded by Rafael and José Guilisasti. At the end of the 90s, they recognized the trend towards organic wine and jumped on the bandwagon. Together with visionary winemaker Álvaro Espinoza, they began to transform a conventional Chilean winery into a 100% organic and biodynamic winery, with the firm goal of producing wines of the highest quality while respecting people and the environment. After more than 2 decades, what started as a dream is now a complete product portfolio with national and international awards.

founded in 1998, it would be another 5 years before Emiliana 's first wines appeared on the market. The time until then was paved with the development of the vineyards and the necessary organic certification of the same. in 2006 they even managed to obtain the strict Demeter certification for the wine Gê . The further period is marked by the steep ascent with several awards of Winery of the Year in Chile, Fairtrade and other certifications.
The vineyards of Emiliana
Today, Emiliana owns several vineyards in the most important wine-growing areas of Chile. They extend over the following valleys:
- Limarí Valley
- Casablanca Valley
- Colchagua Valley
- Cachapoa Valley
- Maipo Valley
- Bío-Bío Valley

This diversity gives Emiliana a wide range to provide the ideal terroir for each wine, be it the white varieties, which are mainly grown in the Limarí and Casablanca Valleys, or the reds, which mainly benefit from the climatic conditions in Colchagua or Cachapoa.
Key points of the organic viticulture of Emiliana
The vineyards are optimized in the sense of organic viticulture, they have a much higher biodiversity than conventionally managed vineyards, which again activates the soil and ensures better growth of the plants. Moreover, due to the prohibition of synthetic pesticides, water is not contaminated, the soil, thanks to its high content of organic material, acquires the ability to retain more water, which also reduces water consumption. The erosion of the soil is also reduced by the natural fauna and flora in the vineyards.

10 different lines of wine are now produced by Emiliana, such as the Adobe Reserva wines, The Gran Reserva of the Novas lineor the Amaluna sparkling wines. With such a wide lineup, a good choice can be found for any wine lover with environmental awareness.
