Enate

Enate is one of the truly big names when it comes to Spanish wine. 

The Enate winery is located in one of Spain’s traditional wine-growing regions, Somontano. Somontano means “at the foot of the mountains”, in this case well protected at the foot of the Pyrenees. The name of the winery is taken from the small village of Enate, which lies in Somontano, near Barbastro. Most of its vineyards are located there. 

The wines are produced exclusively from their own grapes and the vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of organic viticulture. The winery’s team is young, highly motivated and excellently trained.

From the very beginning, Enate has set high standards. The declared goal is to make wines for the world’s top tier. Jesús Artajona, one of Spain’s most distinguished winemakers, contributes greatly to this. He studied oenology in Bordeaux and then worked at various estates in Bordeaux, one of them being the renowned Château Margaux. His signature and credo are wines shaped by their terroir, with soft tannins and a style reminiscent of French wines. Wines with power and vitality, but above all wines of great elegance.

From the outset, art has played a central role for Enate. The wines are true works of art, each bottle an image of contemporary art. Therefore, Enate has asked all major living Spanish artists to paint for them. The result is an art gallery with more than 100 paintings. To carry on this artistic heritage, the collection is being completed by young artists, participants in the Enate EnArte Awards. The motifs for the wine labels are selected from the paintings in the collection. Enate is, in every respect, a total work of art.
