François Lurton it was not enough to limit himself to his native France.

The globetrotter François Lurton
After the descendant of a Bordelais winemaking family had already worked as marketing director in his father's company, he was drawn all over the world to advise wineries around the globe. Accompanied by his brother Jacques, they moved from Moldavia to Argentina, back to Spain and finally Australia. in 2007, François Lurton finally became managing director of the company and they began producing wines in Spain, Argentina and Chile in addition to France.
Some of the brands and estates that today belong to François Lurton are:
- Mas Janeil
- Bodega Piedra Negra
- Campo Eliseo
- Hermanos Lurton
- Hacienda Araucano
The favorite wines of François Lurton
Under the brand Les Fumées Blanches François Lurton vinifies his favorite grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region around Gers in the southwest of France. The region lies at the foot of the Pyrenees and can benefit here from a climate that is strongly influenced by the Atlantic and thus brings a certain coolness to the vineyards. In addition to white wine, a rosé made from Sauvignon Gris, a mutation of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is also produced under the brand.

Responsibility and the future of viticulture
Particularly close to François Lurton 's heart is the ecological cultivation of his wines. Although there is still some resistance in the winemaking world, he is convinced that the sustainable, nature-friendly approach will prevail over time thanks to modern, environmentally friendly viticultural techniques that no longer entail a loss of harvest. François Lurton is always trying to improve quality in order to compete with and surpass cheaper, conventionally produced wines.
