Saperavi is particularly closely associated with Kakheti in eastern Georgia. The country’s most important wine region is characterized by warm, sunny days, cooler nights and the impressive panorama of the Caucasus. Here, Saperavi finds ideal conditions for developing intense fruit, structure and aromatic depth.

At the same time, one of the world’s oldest winemaking traditions continues to thrive in Kakheti: aging in the Qvevri. These large clay vessels are traditionally buried in the ground and used to ferment and mature the wine. Alongside this historic method, numerous modern Saperavi wines are also produced today.
