The Estévez Group originated from the Jose Lena Rendon company, which specialized in sherry and was founded in 1809. After several name changes, the company was finally named after its owner family Estévez in 1974. in 1982, the Bodega Marques del Real Tesoro was acquired, one of the largest sherry producers. Other acquisitions include the brands Tio Mateo, A.R. Valdespino and Hijos de Rainera Pérez Marín y M. Gil Luque.

The goods

Marques del Real Tesoro was founded in 1897 by the grandson of the first count and named after him. In the cellars, the well-known solera method is used, in which the new wines are poured at the top and later transferred piecemeal to barrels that are stored further down, mixing them with part of the old vintage.

The history of Valdespino begins as early as 1264 with the first known member of the family, a knight who at that time was involved in viticulture. Trading activities are known since 1430, and the current company was founded in 1875. Milestones in the history of the house are the appointments as purveyor to the court of the Spanish and Swedish royal families for sherry. Special wines of the house are the Sacristia wines, the best sherries of the house, which are stored in a special room, the "Sacristia". Although almost every sherry producer has such a room, only Valdespino is allowed to use this name. The Fino Innocente in turn are sherries that are fermented in oak barrels instead of in stainless steel tanks, as is typical today.

The manor house of La Guita is an old hospital, where today you can still admire the authentic baroque exterior. The estate produces a manzanilla, a different type of sherry as opposed to the typical fino sherry from Jerez.
