The Kamptal - the home of Laurenz V.

The Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal is characterized by its rolling hills that nestle one against the other. Every now and then, shimmering granite rocks flash through - and right through the middle of it flows the Kamp River, and right in the middle of it lies the winery Laurenz V. (Laurenz Five).

The vineyards of the Kamptal are mainly planted with Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The soils are rich in loess, gravel, primary rock, gneiss and mica slate.

Grüner Veltliner can do everything

The most important autochthonous grape variety of Austria is the Grüner Veltliner and Laurenz V. is fully committed to this variety. From light, acidic wines to highly ripe Prädikatsweine - the Veltliner can do it all.

How it all began

The three founders Laurenz Maria Moser V., Dieter Hübler and Franz Schweiger laid the foundation for today's Laurenz V. Winery in 2004. The grandfather of Laurenz Maria Moser V. is no stranger. In the early 1930s, he developed the Lenz-Moser upbringing - and who would have thought it with this Austrian winery - the grape variety Grüner Veltliner could be cultivated best with this system.

And today?

Today, the Laurenz V winery is run by Dieter Hübler and Franz Schweiger.

Peter Schweiger - Franz Schweiger 's brother - has been responsible for the wine cellar since its foundation. A very talented winemaker who is deeply connected with the Kamptal. And he has received help from his son - Peter Jr. He graduated from viticulture school in 2012 and is actively assisting his father.
