100 years of history at Lausitzer Früchtverarbeitung

Lausitzer Früchterverarbeitung GmbH is a company from Saxony with its headquarters in the region that bears the company's name. The company started in 1901, when Hugo Paul founded the Lausitzer Konservenfabrik "Hugo Paul" in Sohland an der Spree. In 1923, the product range was expanded to include candied lemon peel, marzipan, fruit syrup and jams, followed in 1933 by the fruit juices for which Lausitzer is known today.

At the time of the GDR, the company was a nationally owned enterprise, during which time fruit and vegetables were generally processed, as well as typical products such as the lemonades Orangenperle and Fips were produced. 

The present time

After the fall of communism, the company was acquired by deharde Holding, which merged it with Sundi, a company producing food ingredients. In 1998, after a number of acquisitions and sales of various divisions, Lausitzer Früchteverarbeitung GmbH Sohland was founded, and finally in 2011 Lausitzer Food Ingredients was spun off and the company emerged in its current form.

Sporting commitment

In the field of alcoholic beverages, Lausitzer is now active as a producer of various mulled wines and punches. For years, the highlight has been the SG Dynamo mulled wine, which arose from the company's long-standing sponsorship of the Dresden football club. Since 2011, the company has been supporting the traditional club, among other things specifically its educational leisure activities for children, the so-called Giraffenbande. 

In addition, Lausitzer also supports the Dresden club 1.FFC Fortuna Dresden, the most successful women's football club in Dresden, as well as the ski club Sohland 1928, where it supports the construction of the new ski jump. In addition, Lausitzer is also present at various sporting events to promote young talent.

Future-oriented, Lausitzer works according to the guidelines of the initiatives Sedex for sustainability in the supply chain, as well as Smeta for ethical trade. Lausitzer also undergoes annual audits to reduce its own ecological footprint and is a member of the Mari:e network for environmental management.
