The terraces of Valtellina
Nino Negri in Valtellina is part of the Gruppo Italiano Vini. It is located in an old palazzo of the 15th century, which was given to the military Stefano Quadrio by the Duke of Milan. Already at that time he began to cultivate vines. In the 19th century, the namesake Nino Negri married into the family, creating the current brand.
New technology in old walls
The estate is committed to the fusion of modern technology and tradition to produce top wines from its wine region. For example, the old barrels of various fill sizes in the cellar have been replaced by modern French and American oak barriques, and temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks have been installed. In the vineyard, experiments are being carried out with different Nebbiolo clones in order to get the best out of the grape variety. The cultivation takes place mainly on terraces, most of which have sandy soils.
