Pagos del Rey - four wineries - one vision

The Pagos del Rey project began in 2002 with the aim of producing quality wines with their own personality in the most prestigious wine regions of Spain. The company owns wineries in  Riberadel Duero, Rioja, Rueda and Toro. All of them have a modern design that combines tradition and innovation and are equipped with modern technology for winemaking . The wineries belong to the great Spanish wine company Félix Solís.

Pagos del Rey S.L in Ribera del Duero

This winery is located in Olmedillo de Roa (Burgos), in the heart of the Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Ribera del Duero. It produces red wines ranging from young wines not aged in oak barrels to Reservas and Gran Reservas. The brands that have made this winery famous are Altos de Tamaron and Condado de Oriza with more than 100 medals won in national and international competitions.

The winery was built in 2002 and rises majestically with its overhanging roof and massive concrete facade, the wine goddess Ariadne watches over the winery as a sculpture. 70 hectares of vineyards belong directly to the winery, and a total of 1,600 hectares are cultivated in cooperation with 450 family-run wineries from the region. The winery has a floor area of 70,000 sq. m. 12.000 American oak barrels wait 15 meters underground for the wines from the winery to give them the finishing touch. Annually, 10,000,000 liters of wine are produced.

Pagos del Rey S.L in Rueda

The Pagos del Rey winery was opened in 2005. Its beautiful brick façade houses state-of-the-art technology. The Pagos del Rey winery in Rueda is one of the largest wineries in the region, covering an area of 90,000 square meters. It is in this winery that the Blume brand was born. Blume is the leading brand of wines with Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Rueda in the Spanish retail market. Verdejo is the main grape variety and a symbol of the identity of the region. The winery has a Mudejar-style façade, typical of Spain and dating back to the fusion of Christian and Islamic architecture in the Middle Ages. A small garden with ancient olive trees is attached to the estate. 

Pagos del Rey S.L in Rioja

The winery is located in La Rioja Alta, near the river Ebro, in the small town of Fuenmayor. This privileged location allows the selection of the best grapes of the grape varieties:

• Tempranillo
• Graciano
• Grenache
• Mazuelo
• Viura

The winery has a modern architecture, with a glass facade that looks like the prow of a ship making its way through the landscape. 2500 hectares of vineyards are managed by Félix Solís and the 1,000 partner wineries in the region. 17.000 barrels of American and French oak are stored in the barrel cellar, which has an imposing fir wood ceiling. 

Pagos del Rey S.L in Toro

The Pagos del Rey winery in Toro was opened in 2008, although the original winery was established in 1952 under the name Nuestra Señora de las Viñas. It is located in Morales de Toro, Zamora. Next to the winery is the Pagos del Rey Wine Museum, which opened in February 2014, where visitors can see various items from the history of grape growing and winemaking. The museum is located in the facilities of the old winery. The building and the original tanks have been preserved and are part of the museum.

36% of the red wine produced in the D.O. Toro comes from this winery. 1.400 hectares of vineyards are available for wine production. The viticulture is done traditionally, that is, the vines grow close to the ground and herbaceous, rather than trellised. A stone cellar 10 meters deep is available for the wines, where about 2,000 barrels of American and French oak are waiting to be filled. 

From this winery come the wines of the brands Bajoz, Sentero and La Única, among others.
