The Rosemount wines have always stood for fresh, lively and agreeable wines from Australia. The estate has been producing since 1974 and has since made a name for itself on the international stage.

Already the 1975 vintage was able to win many people over by presenting the qualities of the winery unmistakably. Always in tune with the times, they introduced an appropriate wine in time for the Chardonnay wave of the 80s, which was able to win the rare double gold at the IWSC. This was followed by distinctions such as Winery of the Year 2000 at the San Francisco International Wine Competition, as well as further awards over the years.

The Australian Mediterranean

The McLaren Vale, just an hour from the capital Adelaide, offers a Mediterranean feel in Oceania. German and Italian settlers who arrived here began viticulture quite quickly. The region offers various soils as well as different microclimates depending on the distance to the sea.

This gives winemakers the opportunity to select the best soils for their grape varieties and create unique wines. In addition to Shiraz, which accounts for 51% of the vineyard area of McLaren Vale, other classics grow in the valley:

• Chardonnay
• Merlot
• Cabernet Sauvignon

But varieties such as Fiano and Vermentino can also be found here, brought over by Italian immigrants.

Responsibility and dedication at Rosemount Estate

Sustainability is also taken very seriously at Rosemount. The harsh Australian climate calls for careful work, and so the estate’s grey water is used to irrigate the surrounding wetlands and thus preserve the local flora and fauna. They cooperate, for example, with the University of Adelaide and the Cleland Wildlife Park.

The team’s dedication to quality allows the Rosemount wines to shine at a very high level to this day.
