"100 years of small juice store" - the fruit juice factory Van Nahmen from the Rhineland
Van Nahmen was founded in 1917 as a Rhineland apple cabbage factory. At that time, people were gnawing at the hunger cloth and an end to the First World War was not in sight. The rural company started out as Wilhelm (I.) van Nahmen. Apple cabbage was the first product, because in times of hunger, the Rhenish apple and turnip cabbage was a sought-after product that was nutritious and rich in energy and thus came in handy for the population.
After only 13 years, Wilhelm's son Wilhelm (II.) van Nahmen entered the entrepreneurial stage. The 19-year-old Wilhelm also started with entrepreneurial foresight and began, in addition to apple power, with the production of fruit juices, initially as a contract cidery, which is still practiced at Van Nahmen today. Thus, orchard owners from the Lower Rhine and the neighboring Münsterland let their apples in the wage to juice vermosten.
Van Nahmen - all signs point to juice

After the war, all signs at Van Nahmen pointed to juice. The quantity grew without the quality of the Van Nahmen juices falling by the wayside. The reason was the gentle production from regional fruit such as apples, pears and red currants.
Focus on the meadow orchard

The third generation finally took over responsibility in 1990. The eldest son Rainer van Nahmen took over the management of the private press house and invented the juice from meadow orchards, which fit into the time of awakening environmental awareness. The German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (Nabu) had put him up to it when more and more meadow orchards were threatening to disappear. Since 1994, van Nahmen's press has been pressing apples from high-trunk orchards separately and bottling them as "apple juice from meadow orchards".
Noble from juice- as natural as possible

Naturally unsprayed fruits, no artificial fertilization, old varieties, separate pressing, optimal ratio of acidity and sugar, artisanal process and the separately advertised product line, that's what makes this special apple juice. The "Kleine Saftladen" van Nahmen was one of the first wine press houses to consistently pursue the principle of "meadow orchard" and still focuses on it today. Today, there are over 200 cultivation contracts with meadow orchard owners. The idea has thus proven to be viable in the long term.
Three varieties of fruit sparkling wine were most recently launched on the market by Van Nahmen after five years of development: apple-quince, grape and apple-currant-raspberry.
