Zimmerlin - Kaiserstuhl in the glass, sun in the heart

Directly at the foot of the wine terraces of the small community of Bötzingen lies the Zimmerlin winery. 1955 by Olga and Rudolf Zimmerlin. Progenitor Dietmar Zimmerlin eventually took over the family business and in a few years brought Zimmerlin to everyone's attention as a respected supplier of Burgundy wines in white and red.

Dietmar's very early death brought the steep rise of the Zimmerlin winery to an abrupt end, but his wife Claudia did not let this setback get her down and continued to drive Zimmerlin forward successfully.

2010 - Alexander Steiner takes over

In April 2010, Alexander Steiner and his family took over the majority of the winery. The former insurance executive turned his back on the industry and fulfilled a long-held wish with Weingut Zimmerlin.

Price enjoyment and good - the motto of Zimmerlin

Where other wineries rant about tradition and modernity or sprinkle a lot of fairy dust in the vineyard and cellar to justify considerable prices and extravagant bottle fittings, Zimmerlin focuses on just one thing - simply a very good price-pleasure ratio. Upscale wines, expressive everyday wines and the occasional delicately aged top Pinot - that's what Steiner and his chief oenologist Herbert Krebs are all about.

As is common in Baden, Burgundy vines are the main focus at Zimmerlin, but other German classics are also grown. In detail, these are

Zimmerlin - the wine critics raise their thumbs

The reward for the effort is, in addition to primarily regionally great customer satisfaction and also a grape acquired in 2014 in the wine guide Gault Millau, as well as the 2013 received second star in the Eichelmann wine guide.
