The roots of the Spanish winery Bodegas del Senorio go back to 1870 when J. Asensio acquired fertile land in the municipality of Almonacid de la Sierra. He did not yet actively cultivate vines, but was already involved in the development of agriculture. In 1910, the piece of land changed hands: Martínez Gutierrez began to grow his wines in what is now the Cariñena wine region. for 80 years, the winery bore his name. Then his son Jesus Martinez Gutierrez, who took over the estate and still runs it today, decided to rename the family business. Despite changing the name to Bodegas del Senorio held on to his father's philosophy and lifestyle and is now considered one of the best wine producers in the region. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, he also grows the Macabeo grape variety and gently processes it into very qualitative and flavorful products. In the winery's storerooms are more than 120 barrels of French oak and rare bottles of wine from different harvest years.
