Bodegas El Meson

Bodegas El Meson is a wine producer in Rioja that is dedicated exclusively to the Tempranillo grape, which is typical of the region. Long barrel aging gives the El Meson wines the classic Rioja character. A full 10,000 barrels are stored in the winery’s cellar. Bodegas El Meson is part of the Barón de Ley group, which is responsible for many Rioja wines.

Rioja is located in the north of Spain on the Ebro River and is one of the best-known wine-growing regions in Spain. Tempranillo accounts for the largest share of a single grape variety, with 61% of the vineyard area. The most common soil types in the region are:

Compared with the rest of Spain, this area has a rainy climate with mild, warm summers and cool winters, overall continental in character. Most of the grapes are made into red wines.
