Riunite history from Reggio Emilia

The story of Cantine Riunite begins in the 50s of post-war Italy with a common meeting. We are in 1950 and people want to start anew. So this group of winemakers get together around a table and decide to embark on a great adventure. Because they are full of energy, drive and enthusiasm. Thus, nine wineries from the province of Reggio Emilia joined forces and the Cantine Cooperative Riunite was born.

The 1960s marked a milestone for Cantine Cooperative Riunite. It was the time of economic boom, cultural rebellion and social awakening. This period also inspired the wineries and their winegrowers, who immediately started a new plant in Reggio Emilia. This allowed them to double production capacity in just 6 years.

In the early 1980s, as Italy was heading for the World Cup, Riunite was also breaking records. One million hectolitres of bottled wine were produced, making the cooperative the third largest group of wine producers in the world.

In the 90's another milestone is set for Riunite. The Cantine Riunite becomes a big company and continues its growth with great successes in Italy and abroad, where the wine of Riunite, becomes its protagonist the Lambrusco dell'Emilia.

Riunite in Emilia Romagna

The territory of Emilia-Romagna is suitable for the cultivation of vines and the production of wines due to its geographical characteristics. Along the Via Emilia an extraordinary wine economy has developed, which since Roman times has boosted the national and international wine trade. Lambrusco originates from this land and from here the red bubbles of Emilia reach every corner of the entire world.

Riunite Lambrusco wine varieties

Today 12 varieties of wine are cultivated, from which the different qualities of Lambrusco derive. To these varieties are added other varieties that do not belong to the Lambrusco family, such as:
