The Fleury winery is located in Courteron, in the southern Champagne, specifically in the Côte des Bar. This area is known for its clay-limestone slopes, shaped by the first tributaries of the Seine. The Seine springs 70 km upstream in Saint-Seine-l’Abbaye.
Our History
We have a long family tradition in viticulture that dates back to 1895. We are proud to pass on our passion for winemaking from generation to generation while also pursuing innovative approaches.
Innovation and Tradition
Early on, we ventured into innovative ideas during difficult times. One example is Emile Fleury, who was the first in the region to graft Pinot Noirs to overcome the phylloxera crisis.
- Grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier
- Wine types: Champagne
- Locations: Côte des Bar
In 1929, during the economic crisis, Robert Fleury began producing his own champagne to save his harvest. This laid the foundation for our current production of grower Champagnes.
Our Connection to Nature
We love the earth and firmly believe that each of us is an important part of this terroir. Our interaction with nature is crucial for the balance and harmony in our vineyard.
Our Approach in the Vineyard
We have been managing our vineyard in harmony with nature for over 30 years. We respect natural rhythms and focus on organic and biodynamic farming to produce high-quality grapes for our Champagnes.
The Importance of the Soil
The soil of our terroirs is rich in life, home to a variety of microorganisms that support the ecosystem. Fungi, bacteria, insects, and earthworms contribute to healthy soil life.
Fundamental Principles of Biodynamics
We follow the principles of biodynamics, which are based on observing natural rhythms. This method emphasizes the harmony between earth, water, air, and cosmic influences, including the sun, moon, and planetary cycles.
