Château Guiraud has often been characterized by its own ways and non-conformity.

Château Guiraud - the story of a different way
in 1766, the estate, previously named La Maison Noble du Blaye , was acquired by the Guiraud merchant family, to whom the present name goes back. The Guirauds built a Protestant chapel on the property, a statement in largely Catholic France. The next "affront" came with the label, which the Guirauds designed black and gold, contrary to the usual white. The design language, with its straight lines and block lettering in contrast to the typical handwriting style, was downright avant-garde for the 19th century and stood for the family as a symbol of the Republic and their faith, which differed from the norms.
Château Guiraud's road to success
In 1855, Château Guiraud was awarded the coveted title of Premier Grand Cru Classé as part of the Bordeaux winery classification process, an achievement for which the family had worked for three generations. Today, the estate is run by an association of four winemaker and businessman friends:
- Xavier Planty, formerly the winery's general manager before the takeover
- Robert Peugeot, part of the carmaker family
- Stephan von Neippberg, owner of several Premier Grand Cru Classé estates
- Olivier Bernard, chairman of the Union des Grands Crus and owner of Domaine de Chevalier

For the benefit of nature
Château Guiraud has not forgotten its roots to this day, dedicating itself to organic viticulture and the evolution of winegrowing. Since 2001, the estate has a greenhouse where 135 different genetic strains of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc are preserved, an invaluable asset both for nature and as an educational tool.
Château Guiraud now offers a dry white wine called G de Château Guiraud in addition to its first wine and second wine Petit Guiraud, both Sauterne sweet wines. The wines are fermented in steel tanks and some are aged in barriques for various durations.
