Gabriel Farnet, the grandfather of the current owners, acquired Château Minuty in 1936.

Château Minuty - Winegrowing above the Bay of Saint Tropez
During the reign of Napoleon III, this Château Minuty had been the jewel of the Germondi family, who built it on the peninsula between Calvaire and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Gabriel Farnet planted new vineyards, built his own winery, restored Château Minuty to resplendent glory and established the estate’s excellent reputation. Even today, some of the villas and hotels along the Côte d'Azur are proud to own some of the early, pot-bellied Burgundy bottles from Château Minuty.

Provençal winegrowing from Carignan to Grenache
When Farnet’s daughter Monique and her husband Etienne Matton took over the estate, they planted traditional Provençal grape varieties, focused on consistent yield reduction and high quality, and further enhanced the good reputation of the Château Minuty wines.
And what is Château Minuty like today?
Today, the future of the estate is securely in the hands of the brothers Jean-Etienne and François Matton; they have largely replaced the Carignan and Ugni Blanc vines with Grenache and Rolle, modernized the estate and are now focusing on lean, fresh, elegant rosé wines that appear both youthful and sophisticated.
