Châteaux & Domaines Castel - A range of talents
Since your founding over 60 years ago, you have specialized primarily in Bordeaux wines. Their expertise as winemakers and wine merchants has grown successively and has continued to develop to this day. Your company consists of 20 family owners, a number of Bordeaux Grand Crus and a selection of traditional wineries.

Together, you work daily to reflect, protect and promote global wine culture. From Bordeaux to the Loire Valley, from Languedoc to Provence, the Castel family is both winemakers and merchants. The family owns and operates 20 wineries totaling 1100 hectares of vines in France. Working in four major wine-growing regions requires a high degree of adaptability to accommodate local characteristics. Regardless of the terroir, each with its own character, climate and ecosystem, the Castel family wineries share the same environmentally conscious commitments and passion for quality.
A system of classifications creates a qualitative hierarchy among them. The individual sites, on the other hand, play a subordinate role. Their place is taken by the château to which they belong. The wines are all "old acquaintances": Baron Phillippe de Rothschild, Lafite, Latour, Mouton Cadet all drunk. The Castel family has always specialized in the Bordeaux region. Today, the family's wine expertise, both as winemakers and wine merchants, continues to evolve under the Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus banner.

Jewel of the Castel family - Castel at Montlabert
The acquisition of Château Montlabert, for example, was part of a journey that began in 1957 to discover and promote French terroirs and appellations through a portfolio of family estates. The terroir, winemaking expertise, hospitality and dedication of the family make Château Montlabert the jewel in the Family Estate crown. Montlabert is an encounter that goes beyond an investment. The Castel family's decision to settle in the heart of one of the world's most prestigious wine regions is rooted in their history as winemakers. Between the purchase in 2008 and the inauguration in 2020, the Castel family has invested time and resources to outline the contours of a new history and a new ambition. for 10 years, the focus was on listening to and understanding the terroir in order to build a winery based on a desire for sustainable excellence. The design and construction of the winery is the vehicle to achieve this vision of enhancing the terroir and property.

They firmly believe that estates , vineyards and Grand Cru are not simply owned. They are a heritage that is passed from one generation to the next.
