Bodega Dehesa de Luna
The Dehesa de Luna winery is located in a privileged enclave, surrounded by 2,800 hectares of unspoiled nature and guarded by the animal and plant species that inhabit the area.
On a hill in the south of Castile is the Bodega Dehesa de Luna, founded in 1996 by Silvia Domecq and her husband. They once asked themselves the question: if a wine is characterised by the land on which it is grown ... What kind of wine can the vines that are grown here give? The first wine for our own consumption was created in 2005, the first vintage for sale was in 2010.
Today, Bodega Dehesa de Luna is an internationally awarded organic winery for its wines and its commitment to the environment.

Bodega Dehesa de Luna: Organic winery in harmony with the environment
At the Biodiversity Reserve Farm Dehesa de Luna, a balance is sought between the use of resources and environmental protection. This is the only way to create sustainable, high quality and representative wines, as well as a functioning ecosystem.
Dehesa de Luna offers a careful selection of wines of autochthonous varieties, innovation in the vineyard and preservation of the environment.
Some examples of sustainable management at Dehesa de Luna are:
- Use of green roofs
- Respect for the landscape in the design of the vineyards
- Use of guidance systems and special design of the irrigation system
- Rational use of irrigation water
- Incorporation of sawn timber into the soil
- Use of energy from sustainable sources
- Production of clean electricity in the own photovoltaic park (approx. 60% of the bodega's energy needs are covered by the own solar panels)

2.800 hectares currently comprise the Finca Reserva Dehesa de Luna. Maybe a little more, maybe a little less. It's hard to put boundaries on a field of holm oaks, junipers, gorse and rosemary .
Of these hectares, almost 2,000 are forests inhabited by the native fauna of the countryside of La Mancha. The remaining 1,000 are now dedicated to the organic cultivation of vines, olive trees, almonds, pistachios, lentils and long-cycle cereals.
In the organic winery they have decided to change the cycle and move the harvest to summer to protect the breeding season of the red partridge, which likes to nest under the shelter of the fields, protected from eagles and hawks. Therefore, the partridge is also part of the artistically designed labels.
Only about 3% of the total area of the Bodega Dehesa de Luna estate is planted with vines. 900 ha are planted with olives, almonds, pistachios and cereals.
