More information about Director's Cut Zinfandel - Francis Ford Coppola Winery
The Director's Cut Zinfandel from Francis Ford Coppola appears in a deep dark red with purple highlights in the glass. On the nose, fully ripe dark berry fruits, sweet mocha notes and spices are clearly evident. On the palate, the Director's Cut plays its cards to the fullest. Juicy blackberries, juicy plums, aromatic sour cherries combine with mocha, warm spices and fine wood nuances to create a Zinfandel that lingers in the memory. In terms of body, the American red wine is very concentrated, the finish is very long and the tannin is perfectly integrated together with acidity and alcohol.
Vinification of the Director's Cut Zinfandel
The grapes for this premium Zinfandel come from the small single vineyard Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma Valley, which is known for its outstanding Zinfandels. The Director's Cut Zinfandel is half whole cluster oxidative fermented. The pomace hat is manually stirred in several times a day, intensifying the color and tannins. The other half of the grapes are temperature-controlled fermented in steel tanks. This Californian wine is aged in American and French barrique barrels.
