Domaine Drouhin Oregon - the family in America

On the Dundee hills, overlooking the Willamette Valley is Domaine Drouhin Oregon. The Drouhin family is originally from Beaune, France and owns a large estate there. Domaine Drouhin Oregon is now their project to establish French winemaking style in America. Following Burgundian tradition, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown here, on a vineyard of about 95 acres.

The estate's site was chosen for its orientation and fairly similar climate to its Burgundian home. The estate has its own breeding of rootstocks so that it can do its own grafting. In keeping with tradition, Burgundian tradition is of course also lived in the cellar with barrel aging in barriques from France.
