Domaine du Colombier - The history of the estate
Founded by his grandfather and now run by his sons Florent and David, the Domaine du Colombier initially supplied grapes to the major wine merchants of the Rhône Valley. At Florent's request, their own wines and vintages were developed from 1991 onwards. They have 17 hectares of vines in the towns of Mercurol and Tain-l'Hermitage and also grow apricots . They produce 5 vintages in AOC Crozes-Hermitage, two of them white and three red.

Domaine du Colombier Cuvée
The two white wines are made from Marsanne, a grape that produces both complex and soft wines. The first cuvée benefits from six months of ageing. Of this, 40% is aged in demi-muids and 60% in oak barrels. It is a spring wine that exudes freshness and a certain minerality.
Cuvée Gaby
The second cuvée, named in homage to her father Gabriel who, at over 80, is still harvesting with you, is a more powerful wine that has spent a whole year in barrel.

Young vine cuvée
As the name suggests, it comes from vines that are between three and twenty years old. It is a real thirst quencher, turned towards the fruit to drink it still young at the barbecue.
Domaine du Colombier Cuvée
It is made from old vines and spends twelve months in demi-muids. Its colour is darker, the aromas spicier, the tannins more present. It is a wine that fits well with the style of the estate with all its character. Bloody and masculine - as some like to define it and quite accurately. It also tastes particularly good with a nice steak.
Cuvée Gaby
It is made in the same way as the previous cuvée, but from grapes that make it an even more present wine that can happily be used for storage. About 12,000 bottles of this wine are produced per year.
