Domaine Fond Croze

Domaine Fond Croze is located in the southern Rhône Valley. The brothers Daniel and Bruno Long produce organic wine here in the tradition of the region.

Domaine Fond Croze - Rhône at its best

After returning from World War I, Charles Long settled in the village of Saint Roman de Malegarde and bought some land where he grew grapes, melons, peaches and apricots to support his family. His son Raymond soon helped him with the work, and so they increased their property to about 25 hectares, where soon only vines and olives were grown.

Raymond became involved in the village community, founded a winegrowers' cooperative and was even mayor of the village for over 28 years. His sons Daniel and Bruno joined the family business to continue the tradition. In 1997, they finally founded the Domaine Fond Croze. Daniel takes care of the vineyards, while Bruno applies his oenology skills in the cellar.

The latest generation

Up to 80 hectares, they enlarged the family estate, and in 2009 they decided to convert their farming to completely organic. In 2017, Daniel's son Guillaume joins the business after spending 2 years abroad studying viticulture and oenology. 

The terroirs of the Rhône Valley

Domaine Fond Croze 's vineyards now cover 6 appellations:

• Rasteau
• Cairanne
• Côtes du Rhône Villages
• Vaison la Romaine
• Côtes du Rhône
• IGP Méditerranée

Accordingly, the terroirs and thus the character of the wines of the house are extremely varied, so there are limestone, sandy soils and gravel terraces in the southern Rhône valley. The region is strongly influenced by the Mediterranean climate with its hot summers and mild winters, the strong wind that prevails here brings some cooling.

The portfolio

15 different wines are produced by the Domaine Fond Croze, white, red as well as rosé. Grape varieties like Grenache, Viognier, Marsanne, Syrah and many others are used for the wines of the house. Steel and concrete tanks are used for fermentation, and some red wines are also aged in barrels of different sizes. 60% of the wines from DomaineFond Croze are now exported, to countries such as the USA, Japan, Russia, Australia, Germany and many others.
