F. W. Langguth Erben - Pioneers of the German Wine Trade
The winery F. W. Langguth Erben is located in Traben-Trarbach on the Middle Mosel and is one of the oldest wine companies in Germany. It was founded by Franz Wilhelm Langguth in 1789, and his initials are reflected in the abbreviations of the winery name. The family continues the company today in the 7th generation, the current managing director is Patrick F.W. Langguth, who has placed the focus entirely in the spirit of the times on sustainability.

Other milestones in the history of the company were marked by various personalities in the family:
In 1887, for example, Carl Wilhelm, successor to the founder, had the villa with the attached winery built after a major city fire. in 1899, Franz Wilhelm (the second in the group) added his own winery to the wine business for the first time, which was further expanded by his son Franz Wilhelm and his wife Margit. After the Second World War, it was thanks to the next generation in the form of Johann Wolfgang, who was able to farsightedly hold back the company's reserves of wine until the economy started rolling again with the introduction of the Deutschmark and the upswing began. Together with the famous marketing expert Hans Domizlaff, he developed the wine brand Medinet, one of the last great creations of the latter. The 6th generation (Thomas Langguth) finally started the company's spirits business, and he was followed by the current CEO Patrick.
