Feudi di San Gregorio - Finest Wines from Campania
On the edge of the Appenines in the Campania region, you will find an open-hearted, modern winery - Feudi di San Gregorio. The center of the 300 hectares of cultivated land is Sorbo Serbico, where the winery is also located. The winery was reopened in 2004 with a modern design by Hikaru Mori, while the interior design is by Vignelli and represents the best in Italian design. Both are also responsible for the label design. Large areas of the winery are located underground, so that from the outside the building fits perfectly into the landscape. Southern Italians are known for their hospitality, so the Feudi di San Gregorio winery is happy to offer tours of the winery and cellar.
As a so-called landlocked winery, the surrounding mountains reach an astonishing 750 meters above sea level, so winters are short but quite cold and snowy for southern Italian conditions, which gives the grapes such a special flavor structure. Selected care is given to the root system of the vines, for which the soil of volcanic origin and sedimentary rock seems very fertile. This prompted the creators of the idea to create a public park where a wide variety of plants and trees are at home, cultivating the typical flavors of southern Italy.
